The working progress of Georgios Averof cruiser in 1/350

Just finished the PE of the kit.The hull is painted black using Vallejo colours.

1/350  Armored Cruiser Georgios Averof:my new commission.

A very nice detailed resin model kit from YS Masterpieces.Very clear resin cast,perfect photoetched,accompanied with the best building quide that I have ever seen in resin kit.(good job Yiannis!!!).

Building  the model straight from the box is not our case.I   was asked to rebuilt the model as it is now exposed now in Nautical park Museum in marina of Floisvos (Athens,Greece).It is a demanding job as I have to consult as many photoes as possible......a lot of scratchbuild,many coffe cups and cigarettes and a lot of patience.

Τhe small Brooklyn kit from ISW ,was an amusing construction, though some scratch built parts were necessary.The funnel was totally scratch built. The davits and the boat were replaced by spare box . I have used the PE railings from Modellmarine and some other PE from the corresponding spare box.My choice was to paint with civilan colors ,as i think that it is more impressive with these colors. I have used Valleho acrylics for the model  and for the sea. A piece of pine tree wood was used for the base.
