Batttleship Gneisenau, after rebuilt project
1/700.
A very nice
kit for a project that never built. The Gneisenau was seriously damaged the
night of 26-27/2/1942 in Kiel from a RAF bomb attack. The German Navy had
decided to rebuilt and reconstruct the ship. But the Gneisenau decommissioned at
1/7/1942.
The HP
resin model kit is a very nice kit. It has fine casting and very sharp detail! The
38 cm turrets have metal barrels. However we used Flagship metal masts,PE antennas
from Toms modelworks and other PE parts like 20 mm from Fine molds. A three
grey camouflage was selected using as usual Vallejo acrylics.
