GEORGIOS AVEROF CRUISER during the Naval Battle of Lemnos 1913. 1/700 scale YSmasterpieces.

The small in scale cruiser from YSmasterpieces has the same excellent quality as his big brother in 1/350. This model has built for my participation in IPMS Scale Model World in Telford. I get inspiration by a painting which is held in Naval Museum of Athens.
The masts of the kit were rebuilt from brass rods. The resin barrels were also replaced from brass barrels. An elastic thread of 0.001dm was used for rigging. The aerial antennas were scratch built from photo etched rings and elastic thread. Smoke effects from the barrels were made by hand painted cotton and PVA glue. Water effects by bombs are from cotton and acrylic gel. As always the whole project has painted using acrylics and some oils for the sea.

USS Ward DD-139 FlyHawk 1/700

This small model kit from FlyHawk is really outstanding!  Excellent and sharp detail in all pieces,  even in the smallest ones.  Very fine and carefully packaging for all this small parts. A sheet of photo etched parts which includes  all the necessary details for a very nice detail model. Mention that, we had to reconstruct the rear mast from brass rods, given the fact that the plastic ones were very thin and risky for rigging. The funnel cups were built  by photo etched parts from spares box, as well. The antenna and the general rigging were made using the rigging reel from Uschi.

Sir Francis Drake’s flagship Golden Hind, 1/350 scale Zvesda

This small and really lovely kit from Zvezda is a snap-tite kit. The kit has excellent detail for his size. We decide to replace the ratlines with the excellent photo etched set of Alliance Modelworks. For the rigging was used a rigging reel .005 mm from USCHI. The figures are from L’Arsenal and was painted with the colors of the specific period! The model has painted using Vallejo acrylics and the oils made all the rest!
