MIRAGE 2000C HAF 1/48 ITALERI

A pleasant, straight from the box construction of the classic Italeri kit. As always I use Vallejo acrylic colours and varnishes. We wanted to build a “clean” model so there is the result!

      The cruise ships are a very strange category of models. Especially the kit of AIDA. Difficult construction and colors! A lot of white combined with yellow decks!!! Terrible. I decided to make a piece by piece painting and then assembly. First of all the hull of course and then deck by deck. For the white parts I preferred to use a gloss white from Humbrol this time. All the other colors are from Vallejo. I was asked to present this construction with a display case. The material of course was Plexiglass. So after a couple of months fighting with the white color there is the result!!!

 The model of Mirage was upgraded using rails from eduard and ladders from modellmarine.The ship was paint by Vallejo acrylic colors.The sea with oils and acrylic gel.

  

IJN AMAGIRI RAMS PT -109,1/350 FINE MOLDS

I was asked to depict the known historical event of  the PT-109 torpedo boat's collision, captain of which was J.F.Kennedy,by IJN AMAGIRI which took place at Blackett Straight,in Augast of the year 1943. It was a demanding construction,given the value of this historical moment.
As we focus in construction techniques here,we propose a number of valid historically linnks at the end of our article.
We took the inspiration from the new kit of Fine Molds of Amagiri in which PT 109 (Aoshima) is given as a bonus.
This is the first time that we build an F.M model,and we feel that is an amazing experience.Awsome in details ,even at the smallest pieces, unbelievable fitting and a very detailed manual.
The kit was detailed using the rails and the gun barrels of F.M.
P.T. 109 was detaild using a brass  20mm Oerlikon gun from Flagship models.The 37mm antitank gun was built using plastic rods and sheets from Evergreen,while the shield was from PE spares box. With the same way we built the two twins 12.7 mm guns.
The ships and the sea was paint by Vallejo colors.
The atols that we decide to exist,came to be a very pleasant and interesting addition. Vegetation there was using materials form GHQ range
